Daily readings: Deuteronomy 24:17-22; Mark 11:12-14; Mark 11:20-24; Psalm 146 (New International Version)

Take care of those who are unable to adequately take care of themselves. This theme runs through the passages of scriptures today: widows, orphans, poor, injured etc.

How can we do this? Through prayer. In Mark, the curse of the fig tree and its subsequent death is a lesson from Jesus that if we pray and believe it is come to pass, it will be so. The prayers of the faithful availeth much.

As my mother said, “Work as if it all depends on you and pray because it all depends upon God.”
